Privacy Policy for ZEN

Last updated: 24 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the ZEN app ("ZEN", "the app", "we", "us") handles your information. ZEN is developed and published by AthlasIO HB ("we"), Sweden.

The short version: ZEN does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. Everything the app stores stays on your device. There is no account, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking.

1. Information the app processes

ZEN is a focus and app-blocking tool built on Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework. To do its job, the app stores the following locally on your device only, never on our servers, because we do not operate any:

  • Your app and category selections. When you choose which apps or categories to block, that selection is provided by Apple's system picker as opaque tokens and stored on your device in a private app group. We cannot read which specific apps you chose beyond what the operating system needs to apply your restrictions.
  • Your focus history. Start and end times, durations, and whether a session was completed or ended early, so the app can show your statistics, streaks, and goals.
  • Your preferences. Settings such as your daily goal, breathing-intro option, Live Activity toggle, and any focus schedules you create.

This information is stored using Apple's on-device storage (an app group shared only between ZEN and its own extensions) and never leaves your device.

2. What we do NOT do

  • We do not collect or receive any of the above data. It never reaches us.
  • We do not require or offer an account, login, email, or password.
  • We do not use analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or any third-party SDKs.
  • We do not track you across apps or websites.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone.
  • The app makes no network connections to transmit your data.

3. Screen Time (Family Controls)

ZEN uses Apple's Family Controls and Screen Time APIs solely to block the apps and categories you select, on your own device, for the duration of your focus sessions or schedules. This is an individual, on-device feature. Apple manages the underlying data; ZEN only receives the system-provided tokens required to apply your chosen restrictions. See Apple's own privacy practices for how Screen Time data is handled by the operating system.

4. Data sharing

We do not share your data with third parties, because we do not have access to it. The only third party involved is Apple, which distributes the app and provides the App Store and operating-system frameworks the app runs on. Any data Apple collects (for example, aggregate download statistics) is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not by us.

5. Your control and choices

Because all data lives on your device, you are in full control:

  • You can clear your blocked-app selection at any time in the app's settings.
  • You can revoke Screen Time access at any time in Settings → Screen Time on your device.
  • Deleting the app removes all data it stored, including your focus history and preferences. There is nothing stored elsewhere for us to delete.

6. Children's privacy

ZEN does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app is rated for a general audience. If a parent or guardian sets up the app on a child's device, no data about the child is collected by or transmitted to us.

7. Legal basis and your rights (EEA/UK)

Because ZEN does not collect or process personal data on our behalf, we do not act as a data controller over any personal data through the app. If you believe this is not the case, or you have questions about your rights under the GDPR or UK GDPR, contact us at the address below.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected in an app update.
